Posted: 05/22/26
Employment Type: Contract
We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Data Cloud Architect with a focus to lead the design,
implementation, and optimization of Salesforce Data Cloud (Data 360) and Salesforce Sales Cloud as our primary
platform for driving contractor and professional buyer engagement. This role is responsible for creating a unified,
trusted, and actionable 360-degree view of customers — including professional painters, contractors, and
trade buyers — by integrating data across Sales Cloud, Retail POS, partner channels, loyalty programs, and
third-party sources.
This is a 6+ month contract. They would like someone to come in the office a couple of times a month, but they are fine with being 100% remote. MUST be willing to work in PST time zone.
The ideal candidate combines deep Salesforce Data Cloud and Sales Cloud expertise with real-world B2B domain knowledge and is passionate about turning complex data landscapes into powerful, revenue generating sales insights.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Solution Architecture & Design (Sales Cloud-Led)
• Architect end-to-end Salesforce Data Cloud (Data 360) solutions with Salesforce Sales Cloud as the
primary system of record and activation layer for Pro sales workflows.
• Design scalable data models, data streams, calculated insights, identity resolution rulesets, and
contractor segmentation strategies within Data Cloud — purpose-built for B2B Pro sales motions.
• Build unified contractor profiles integrating firmographics, purchase behavior, project types, loyalty status,
and engagement history across all Pro touchpoints.
• Define the overall Pro data architecture roadmap aligned with sales growth goals and the enterprise
technology strategy.
• Evaluate and recommend Salesforce Data Cloud features including AI/ML-driven insights (Einstein), data
lakes, and warehouse integrations to accelerate Pro segment revenue.
Data Integration & Management
• Lead the integration of structured and unstructured data from Sales Cloud CRM, ERP, field sales
systems, retail POS, loyalty programs, job-site interactions, and third-party
enrichment providers.
• Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines, real-time data streaming, and batch processing workflows
using MuleSoft, Salesforce Connect, Data Pipelines, Jitterbit, Azure and other middleware.
• Establish data governance frameworks including data quality standards, metadata management, data
lineage, and master data management (MDM) practices specific to contractor and Pro account
hierarchies.
• Optimize large-scale transactional data pipelines from retail and field sources for near real-time sales
insights.
Identity Resolution & Pro Customer Unification
• Configure and optimize identity resolution and matching rules to differentiate and unify contractor
businesses vs. individual painters — creating accurate golden records for both entities.
• Design cross-cloud data sharing strategies to ensure consistency of contractor data across Sales Cloud,
Marketing Cloud, and partner channels.
• Implement consent management and privacy compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, and applicable B2B
data usage constraints).
Sales Enablement & Activation
• Enable advanced Sales Cloud capabilities by designing calculated insights, data kits, and Einstein AI
scoring that empower field sales reps with data-driven contractor intelligence.
• Architect activation workflows to deliver personalized contractor experiences through sales outreach
tools, loyalty and rebate programs, and partner channel communications.
• Drive Pro segment use cases including contractor acquisition, retention, dormant account reactivation,
and next-best-action recommendations for field sales teams.
• Enable segmentation of high-value contractors, repeat buyers, at-risk accounts, and emerging Pro
customers for targeted sales plays.
Analytics & Reporting
• Enable advanced analytics and reporting by integrating Data Cloud insights with Tableau, CRM Analytics,
or other BI tools to surface Pro sales performance metrics.
• Design dashboards and data views that empower sales leadership with Pro segment KPIs: Pro retention
rates, repeat purchase rates, revenue growth, and field sales adoption.
• Track and report on success metrics including accuracy of contractor identity resolution, data latency
improvements, and adoption by sales and marketing teams.
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
• Serve as the primary technical authority on Salesforce Data Cloud and Sales Cloud capabilities, best
practices, and platform limitations for the Pro segment.
• Partner with business stakeholders, field sales leaders, data engineers, Salesforce administrators,
developers, and analytics teams to translate Pro sales requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Conduct architecture reviews, proof-of-concept development, and technical evaluations for new Pro data
initiatives.
• Mentor junior architects, developers, and administrators on Data Cloud and Sales Cloud concepts and
implementation patterns.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field;
Master’s degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture, data engineering, or solution architecture roles.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce platform, including at least 2 years focused on
Salesforce Data Cloud / CDP.
• 3+ years of experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud in B2B or Pro sales environments, including account
hierarchies, opportunity management, and field sales enablement.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, identity resolution, data harmonization, and customer/contractor
360 strategies.
• Strong experience with integration technologies such as MuleSoft, Salesforce Connect, REST/SOAP
APIs, and event-driven architecture.
• Experience integrating retail POS data, field sales systems, and loyalty program data into a unified
CRM/CDP platform.
• Working knowledge of SQL, data transformation tools, and cloud data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery,
AWS Redshift, or Azure Synapse).
• Salesforce certifications required: Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant; additional certifications (Application
Architect, System Architect, Integration Architecture Designer) highly valued.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in contractor, construction, home improvement, or building materials industries
• Hands-on experience with B2B data models, account hierarchy management, opportunities and
segmentation strategies.
• Hands-on experience with Tableau, CRM Analytics (formerly Einstein Analytics), or similar BI/visualization
platforms.
• Knowledge of machine learning frameworks and experience operationalizing ML models within
Salesforce Einstein for propensity scoring and next-best-action recommendations.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations and consent management platforms (OneTrust, TrustArc, or
similar).
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and working with DevOps/CI-CD pipelines for Salesforce
deployments.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for
sales leadership and executive audiences.
