SAP BASIS Administrator

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP BASIS Administrator to serve as the technical subject matter expert responsible for the architecture, administration, optimization, and support of a global SAP landscape. This role will lead the design, implementation, and ongoing support of SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA, SAP CRM, SAP Solution Manager, SAP NetWeaver, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and RISE with SAP environments.
  
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for SAP infrastructure, upgrades, migrations, cloud transformation initiatives, and operational excellence while partnering with business stakeholders, functional teams, infrastructure teams, and third-party service providers.
Key Responsibilities SAP Platform Leadership

• Serve as the SAP BASIS technical lead and subject matter expert across the enterprise SAP landscape.
• Lead BASIS administration for SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA, CRM, BW/BI, Solution Manager, Portal, PI/PO, GTS, and related technologies.
• Partner with functional, infrastructure, security, business, SAP, and third-party vendor teams to deliver reliable and scalable SAP solutions.
• Establish and enforce technical standards, operating procedures, governance, and SAP best practices.

SAP S/4HANA and RISE with SAP

• Lead or support SAP S/4HANA migrations, upgrades, conversions, and transformation initiatives.
• Administer SAP HANA databases, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, replication, capacity planning, and high availability.
• Manage RISE with SAP environments and coordinate incidents, changes, maintenance, upgrades, and service requests with SAP Enterprise Cloud Services.
• Clarify operational ownership across internal teams, SAP-managed services, and hyperscaler infrastructure using defined RACI and escalation procedures.
• Support SAP BTP integrations and cloud-first SAP strategies across Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.

SAP BASIS Administration

• Perform SAP installations, kernel upgrades, support package implementations, system refreshes, heterogeneous system copies, and client copies.
• Manage the Transport Management System (TMS), client strategy, system landscape, Workbench Organizer, and Data Dictionary.
• Monitor and optimize system performance, availability, capacity, batch processing, interfaces, and background jobs.
• Support SAP integrations using IDocs, BAPIs, ALE, EDI, RFCs, and PI/PO.
• Develop lifecycle, patching, maintenance, and upgrade roadmaps aligned with SAP release requirements.

Operations, Projects, and Compliance

• Lead technical projects and track deliverables against established schedules, budgets, standards, and quality expectations.
• Define procedures to operate and monitor SAP environments supporting development, testing, training, quality assurance, and production.
• Support disaster recovery, business continuity, high-availability testing, and production on-call rotations.
• Administer SAP systems in a SOX-controlled environment and support audit, security, change-control, and documentation requirements.
• Provide root-cause analysis and leadership during critical incidents and complex production issues.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of SAP BASIS Administration experience supporting complex enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA, including upgrades, migrations, or system conversions.
• Strong experience with SAP HANA, SAP NetWeaver, SAP Solution Manager, and SAP technical architecture.
• Experience administering SAP on Linux/UNIX and supporting Oracle and/or SAP HANA databases.
• Expertise in TMS, system copies and refreshes, performance monitoring, change management, capacity planning, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Working knowledge of basic ABAP and SAP interfaces, including IDocs, BAPIs, ALE, EDI, and RFCs.
• Experience collaborating with global teams, infrastructure providers, managed service partners, and software vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP Certified Technology Associate or comparable SAP technical certification.
• Experience operating RISE with SAP and working with SAP Enterprise Cloud Services.
• Experience leading SAP S/4HANA migration or modernization programs.
• Experience with SAP BTP, SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Solution Manager, SAP Portal, SAP GTS, SAP BW/BI, and SAP PI/PO.
